Talking With Vendors

Whether you hire a wedding planner or do it on your own, you will be speaking a lot with wedding vendors. From photographers to caterers and beyond. Everyone can use some tips on how to speak with them. It can mean the difference between a better deal or over priced services.
- Mentioning that you are on a budget, but would love their services anyway, is totally appropriate. Asking them for a way to make it work could result in some kind of compromise or discount to help you achieve your goal. After all, there is no harm in asking!
- Don’t forget that there are other vendors. It is important to remember that most of vendors, in the peak wedding season, are over priced for a reason. They know that there a dozens of couples and if you don’t agree with their fee, the next couple will. This is why, if you must have a high season wedding, search for the vendors in your price range. There is very little wiggle room for compromises and discounts, once they know they don’t have to. If you choose an off season wedding date, you will have your choice of vendors with time to negotiate!
