Engagement Rings

There are plenty of traditions that involve engagement rings and “popping the question” however, if you are a modern couple, you may find them out dated. For example, most women prefer to shop for their engagement ring together with their fiance. This ensures the girl gets exactly what she wants, and takes the pressure off the guy.
At the same time, women often still want the surprise of being asked with a ring (it is, after all, what they’ll be expecting when you ask!) so there are plenty of ways to go about getting what she wants, without her knowing. For example, you can always ask a family member. If you know her friend, or sister, or someone to that effect, really closely, then ask them if she has dished any preference on the perfect ring. Just be sure they don’t spoil the surprise! Make them promise and keep the secret just between you two, don’t spread it to any more family since it will most likely get out. Keep the element of surprise and be sure she gets what she wants. You can also prompt her opinion on a friend’s engagement ring, or on a magazine.
